A MAN has been sentenced to six months in jail to be followed by deportation for taking indecent pictures of women with a hidden camera.
The French expat placed a mini camera in a shopping bag and snapped hundreds of shots up the skirts of women, Dubai Court of First Instance heard.
Police said they found 23 pictures on a camera after arresting the 39-year-old company manager at Mall of the Emirates on 8 May 2013.
They also found 293 images stored on a computer belonging to the Frenchman.
A 26-year-old Pakistani shopper told the court that he saw the accused approach a woman and place the bag between her legs from behind for a few seconds.
He said: “I then saw him repeat the same behaviour to another woman nearby.
“The man felt the security guard coming towards him – so he took a small camera from the bag and hid it inside his pocket.
“The security guard asked him to hand over the camera and he did.”
Prosecutors said that the accused confessed to recording then viewing the images of the women.
