Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held talks with new Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during a brief visit to Riyadh by the Kuwaiti leader, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Sheikh Sabah, who was accompanied by a delegation of officials including Kuwait’s foreign, interior, finance and oil ministers, was received by King Salman at King Khalid International Airport, SPA said.
The Kuwaiti leader was also received by Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the deputy premier; Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the governor of Riyadh Region; and Prince Mohammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the deputy crown prince, second deputy premier and interior minister.
Saudi King Salman held a luncheon in honor of the Kuwaiti delegation at his palace as well as talks in which the two sides “reviewed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and their peoples,” the SPA said.
“They also discussed Gulf, Arab and international developments,” the agency added.
At King Khalid International Airport, Sheikh Sabah was seen off by Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Prince Mansour bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Thamer bin Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and a number of senior civil and military officials, the SPA said.
